As a college student, I am often asked for my suggestions on how to avoid low grades. After how many months I have developed these 5 easy tips and don't worry these tips will work for you, whether you are a first year or a graduating, whether what university are you in, these 5 easy tips are for all.
Take a close look at these 5 easy tips on how to avoid low grades.
1. Attend Your Class Always
- Yeah, this one looks so obvious but it if choose to skip your class you miss lectures, notes, discussions, assignments you decline also your chance to participate and you cannot take a quiz. Don't forget to sit close to the front so that your instructor will know you know faster.
2. Be Organized
- Used a student planner- use it to track all your quizzes, assignments, and activities.
- Record your scores during your quizzes, assignments, and activities.
- Don't throw your old assignments because you will need it to your future exam.
3. Manage Your Time Well
- Time management is needed so that you have more free time and you will feel that you are in control.
- Do your projects ahead of time so that you will not panic/struggle when the deadline come.
- Don't overextend yourself remember you are in a college you will be asked to get involved in different clubs or organisations, you need to learn to say no to some request that you think it could affect your schedule.
- 90 minutes study sessions, try to study your lesson not less than 90 minutes and don't do anything else but study.
4. Master Your Instructor
- Every instructor have different way on how they teach and they have different personality.
- Do not afraid to ask questions after discussion especially when you don't have an idea to your topic.
- Know your instructor as a person, visit him/her during office hours or stay after class.
5. Take Good Notes
- Be an active listener,not just listen to the discussion but you try to analyse things that is being presented.
- Recognized information, anything that your instructor writes on the board is important.
- Highlight the keywords so that you have more attention to it when studying.
- Take notes that are readable, don't worry about the grammar because you can correct it anytime.
*Special Tips Before & During Exam*
- Spend at least 3 hours in studying your lessons during weekend.
- Study in a well organized place because it will help you to stay focus.
- Don't stress yourself and sleep early when the day of your exam.
- Try to Relax your mind during exam in order to avoid mental block
- Don't study your lessons during examination days because it's symbolized of unprepared.
- Don't forget to pray and ask guidance from God before your exam.
